LOCATION  
Set in spurs of the Coast Mountains, Powell Lake Resort lies on the shores of Powell Lake, which is 52 km long. From Powell River Marina to the resort it is a  30 km boat ride, or better 30 - 45 minutes. Powell River is located on the mainland 142 km (88miles) Northwest of Vancouver on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The Resort is reachable by boat or float plane only.

DESCRIPTION
Powell River lies 124 km Northwest of Vancouver and can be reached by two scenic ferry rides and an hour and half drive up the Sechelt peninsula. Bracketed by Georgia Strait to the west and the magnificent Coastal Mountains to the east the beauty and uniqueness of its natural setting - Powell River is waiting to be discovered . Powell River lays claim to the mildest climate all over Canada. The July high temperatures averages 23 degrees Celsius (73F)

Powell Lake was once an inlet of the sea and was cut off from the Pacific 10.000 years ago. When the ice sheet retreated, salt-water was trapped in the Powell Lake basin. Today Powell Lake is 52 km long( 26.6 miles ) and the maximum width is 8.6 km (4,37 miles). It's clear lake water that invites for a swim and is home to cut-throat and rainbow trout and has got drinking water quality.  It is surrounded by mountains and offers views of rolling hills and the stunning Coastal Mountains, rain forest terrain and old growth forest and still a lot of wildlife. 

The houses lie nestle amidst trees on a meadow that opens up to the lake. From the shore and from some houses you have a beautiful view of the mountains that surround the lake. There is no neighbour close to the resort. Large forest with very old trees, beautiful hiking trail, lonely bays for swimming, that is the close surrounding to your house. We do have a truck at the nearby Olsonīs Landing, which brings you on an old logging road directly to the world famous DESOLATION SOUND MARINE PARK.  It is known for the stellar lions that you can see playing in the sun, good scuba diving and kayaking.

BUILDINGS

• 2 x attractive self-catering houses for 2-4 persons,  450 sqf = 45 sqm,  consist of a living area, eating/kitchen area, shower/Toilet, separate sleeping room and a futon bed in the living room. The kitchen provides you with fridge, stove and sink. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking ware and dishes.

• 3 x friendly and spacious houses ( two bedroom )for 4-6 persons, 790 sqf = 750 sqm, consist of a living area, kitchen with eating area, full bathroom , extra washroom and two separate bedrooms with one queen bed each and futon bed in the living room. The kitchen provides you with a stove, fridge and sink and is fully equipped as well.

• 2 x open pavilion directly at the lake  with breathtaking views and a barbecue for getting together.
  
• 2 x boat morages one approx 30f and the other approx 30f + float  300sqf. All the morgues and shore are protected by a good break water
  
• 1 x Sauna house with wood heat and storage for linen
  
• 1 Tool shed  

All buildings are very well insulated.

• 1  X 10m ( 29 f ) ALCAN aluminium cabin cruiser with 100 hp Nissan Diesel Motor
  ( inboard ), kitchen, toilet, big deck, sleeps 4
  
• 1 X  6m ( 17 f )  fibreglass boat with  ( inboard ) for 4-6 persons
  
• 1 x 5m (15 f ) Aluminium boat with 15 PS  Yamaha Outboard motor for 4
  
• 3  4m ( 12 f ) canoes

HEATING
By wood stove

PROPANE
Lights, fridges, cooking stoves ( four flame ) and hotwater tank are run by propane, Each house has two one hundred pounders ( good for 3-4 weeks)
